I firmly believe that “a problem shared is a problem halved”, and understand how difficult it can be to feel alone or isolated with our problems. I take a compassion-focused therapy approach, helping clients explore the underlying causes of their emotional, relational, and psychological challenges. I work with adults, couples, and families to help them gain new connection, with their own needs, and with each other. I offer practical coping strategies to relieve anxiety and depression, help with anger management, and aid mindfulness and relaxation. When appropriate, I aim to treat the long-term and often hidden impacts of traumatic experiences, whether experienced in childhood or adulthood. I earned my Master’s degree in counseling from Nyack College and have further training in internal family systems therapy, and grief counseling. My professional background includes nursing in the field of special needs.
I look forward to meeting and working alongside you.
